Welcome to WBC - we're glad you're here
Welcome! Whether you've just moved to the area, or have lived here all your life - we hope our website helps you to find out everything you want to know about our Church.
When & where does the church meet?
The church meet at Somervale School every Sunday morning at 10:30am and every Sunday evening at 6.00pm at our Chapel in Welton. Please note the first Sunday evening service of each month starts at 7pm at Welton Baptist Chapel.
Welton Chapel is also where our offices are.
You can see a map of where we are on our contact us page.
What should I expect when I visit the church?
First of all you'll receive a very warm welcome particularly from our Welcome Team who will be able to answer your questions and direct you to where you need to go.
We are a family-focussed church, and as well as having an adult congregation we have a large number of children and young people at our services. Our eNeRGy ministries have many thriving activities for young people on Sundays and during the week. Young or old, there is something here for everyone, whether you’re discovering Christianity, looking for challenging teaching, a lively place for the children, great worship, or an opportunity to really grow your faith.
Once a month in the morning we have an "All-In" service in the main hall where our eNeRGy groups stay in for the whole service. On the other weeks the children leave for their own groups 30 minutes into the service. In the evenings we go to the school refectory for an informal cafe style meeting.
Tea and Coffee
You are always welcome to join us in the refectory after the morning service for tea or coffee and before our cafe style evening service we serve tea and cakes at 6pm!
What happens to the kids at church?
We have a fantastic range of groups for children and teenagers which are know as eNeRGy groups. Children stay with their parents at the start of the service as we sing worship songs together for the first part of the morning. Someone will announce when the children need to go to their groups.
For more information about what happens in the eNeRGy groups please visit our eNeRGy pages.
Is there a dress code?
No! Please just be yourself and come dressed in your 'normal' clothes.
Will I have to join in?
Not at all! You are free to simply observe or participate as much as feels comfortable for you.
Is it just for Sundays?
No! There are many activities for all ages going on during the week.
