Capella - back into rehearsals .......

Capella-Sep-blogIt's been a quiet summer for Capella.  We've been enjoying consolidating some of our older pieces, and working on new ones, including arrangements of 'A Nightingale Sang in Berkeley Square' and 'I'll Fly Away'.  The beautiful summer evenings have even meant we've held some of our rehearsals outside!  You can see though that we do occasionally have problems with Paul who on this occasion decided to try out the tea cosy for size!!

In June we visited the Munros, where we sang a few of their favourite songs from our recent CD, 'Gloryland', and Ian (arguably our biggest fan!) interviewed us about the experience of recording it.

From time to time we have sung to raise money for a good cause and o
n 7th October, we'll be performing the songs on our CD immediately after the morning service.  The money raised by selling the CD will all go towards the Indonesian earthquake and tsunami appeal.

We're back to regular rehearsals now and making plans for the term ahead - including singing at Critchill Court residential home, Christmas performances, and hopefully some busking.  Watch this space for details.

Welcome

Who are we?

members
We are a church of people from all walks of life who share the common goal of following Jesus and being open about Him with others in our everyday lives. The church is vibrant with lots going on for people of all ages and backgrounds. We’re engaged in local and global mission, and passionately believe that every person has a part to play. We follow Christian Bible teaching, believing it’s through a loving relationship with Jesus Christ that we can experience life in its fullest and have the security of knowing we’ll live forever with God.

We’re part of the local Baptist Association and we are members of the Evangelical Alliance, and regularly connect with the local Churches in our area for prayer and community outreach.

Head to our 'What's on' tab to check out how you can get involved with us.

What is our vision?

We are a Church with a clear vision. It's sourced in the Bible and expressed in these simples phrases:

Coming up images
The 'how' we do these things is a bigger story and one you can learn about by checking out other pages on our site. God has called each of us to be a part of His mission in this life, full of purpose, and confident as His sons and daughters. It's a vision we would love for you to explore with us. Church is not just about Sundays, and we aim to see our faith in Jesus impact every part of our lives, and those around us.
