Delta Year Book Report

I don't know about anyone else but when it comes to writing a piece for the Year Book, it's really hard thinking back a year and remembering what God has been up to within Delta Housegroup!  If I'm honest, that's pretty general in our lives isn't it?  Always on to the next thing and maybe not giving God the glory He deserves.
So, with this in mind, praise God for Delta Housegroup!  We are so blessed to have such a special group of ladies who are honest, open and willing to learn and develop their relationship with our living God.
Our heart for the group is to GROW, both in confidence of knowledge but also in personal holiness.  We want to encourage each other to expect and want more, as we seek Him and His will for our lives.
During May and June we enjoyed the whole church study ‘David – After God’s Own Heart’, learning more about David and the different sides of his personality.
After the summer holidays, we ploughed into a 7 week study on The Lord's Prayer.  Each week, we picked apart the Word and began to have a greater understanding of what this prayer means.  We invited Linda Munro to come and speak to us on Praying and Fasting and reminded us that the Bible says 'when you pray' and 'when you fast'.
As we looked towards Christmas, we asked each person to think of a nativity character and bring something to share about them.  This was quite a varied time of sharing!! Some brought a cuddly character, such as a sheep (not a real one!) and another found lots of fascinating facts about the life of a donkey!  We heard more about Mary Magdalene, and the Magi, to name a few.
Our Christmas social was a combination of games and of course food!!  Our warm Christmas buffet was provided by the Pudding Kitchen and was delicious!  A lovely time to stop, chat and enjoy each other’s company. We also said our Goodbyes to Meg Rodgers, who decided it was time to move on from Delta and to seek God where He was directing her.
We have just completed a 5 week study on 1 Timothy.  Interestingly, as the leaders met during November 2014 to discuss and pray about what to study during the new year term, we agreed on 1 Timothy.  This was the theme of the Leadership conference in February 2014.   It was then announced at the January membership meeting that Mike would be leaving Welton and we would be seeking a new Pastor.  We feel God was preparing us for this time of transition we are going through and felt excited God was speaking clearly to us!
On that note, Mike came to speak to us on John Chapter 16, just before Easter.  He spoke of the joy that would come when Jesus comes again.
As we broke for the Easter break, we shared Holy Communion.  A very personal and intimate time shared by a small group.
So, as we move into a new season, we invite God to lead and direct our path.  We are very mindful and prayerful of the transition period and keep Delta up to date with each stage.  We continue to share our joys and heartaches, the tears and laughter.  We are privileged to be able to pray for one another and to see answer to prayer.  We've experienced healing recently too!
Thursday mornings continue to be a time and place where we come before God and each other, with open hearts and to learn and grow.
D – Discipleship
E – Evangelism

Who are we?

members
We are a church of people from all walks of life who share the common goal of following Jesus and being open about Him with others in our everyday lives. The church is vibrant with lots going on for people of all ages and backgrounds. We’re engaged in local and global mission, and passionately believe that every person has a part to play. We follow Christian Bible teaching, believing it’s through a loving relationship with Jesus Christ that we can experience life in its fullest and have the security of knowing we’ll live forever with God.

We’re part of the local Baptist Association and we are members of the Evangelical Alliance, and regularly connect with the local Churches in our area for prayer and community outreach.

Head to our 'What's on' tab to check out how you can get involved with us.

What is our vision?

We are a Church with a clear vision. It's sourced in the Bible and expressed in these simples phrases:

Coming up images
The 'how' we do these things is a bigger story and one you can learn about by checking out other pages on our site. God has called each of us to be a part of His mission in this life, full of purpose, and confident as His sons and daughters. It's a vision we would love for you to explore with us. Church is not just about Sundays, and we aim to see our faith in Jesus impact every part of our lives, and those around us.
