All change! – Mike Howell – Sunday morning 13th September 09

Ruth 1:1-7. Mike begins by looking at the storm of change and its effect on us. It may immobilise us or cause us to react (in anger). He then talks about the anchors of faith: that God is in control, that He is good and that nothing can happen to us that He has not permitted, even like the suffering which Job experienced. The case study of Elimelech and Naomi (in the book of Ruth) shows how we can move from God's provision to emptiness, but that God draws us back, declaring, “I love you deeply.”
