Ezra ch1. Mike uses this passage in Ezra to challenge us about God's plans for us and our willingness to follow them. He shows us that (1) Israel had become ungrateful and failed to keep God's law; (2) God could use a pagan king to bring about their liberation and (3) as God's church we need to be prepared to follow God's plans for us. We don't need to plan, but we do need to pray!
